Heathkit AT-1 Transmitter. 1951-1956. Heathkit's first Transmitter!!!Early
Version with Black Collins Style Knobs. This transmitter came with 2 Knob
versions....and this is the early version. Has original Black Meter with
small metal hump over the Pivot point of the meter. Has a Phonoplug Jack
for the Key...which I believe was one of several Key plug variations
available.
The front Panel of the unit would rate about a 7-8 with all lettering
sharpe and clear. However....somewhere in it's History...someone has
drilled 3 holes in the front panel....right below the "Benton Harbor,
Mich." Lettering. The 3 Holes have been filled with metal filler and sanded
smooth to be flush with the faceplate. The 2 Position current switch seems
to have been replaced with a Multi position switch?? Not sure on this... it
may need to be replaced. The front and rear panel screws are not original.
The grey metal Cabinet is about a 7-8 as well...with no major scratches,
dings, or dents. There are a few minor paint touchups...but the cabinet is
Original paint. The SO-239 on the back has some deteriation to the Plastic
Center....it could be replaced.
The copper Chassis is in Nice shape...and I don't believe there are any
other mods done to the radio...to my Knowledge. The radio appears to be
working fine....but I have not had it on the air. The person I bought it
from says that she used it on the air many times.....Yes...I bought it from
a YL Ham!!
So....as an overall rating...I would give this a 7 at least.(Save for the
Drill Holes) If it weren't for the Drill holes/Repair to the front
faceplate...it would be an 8.
The Radio comes with a Copy of the Heathkit Manual.
PRICE.......$100.00 USA Plus Shipping

Heathkit AC-1 Antenna Coupler.1953-1956.This is a Very Rare Heathkit
item....Extremely hard to find. Has 2 Heathkit Grey Knobs with white
Pointers, and full red circle markings and the Coarse and Fine Tuning. Has
original White Porcelin Antenna connector on Front panel and original
indicator light. Front Panel Screws are not original. Face plate would be a
7-8 someone has scratched markings around the tuning knobs to mark where
they should set it for various bands!! Grey Metal cabinet looks like it has
been repainted....and there is a Metal Plug in the rear of the cabinet that
fills a Drill hole. Copper Chassis is Good...and there does not appear to
be any other Mods to the unit. The unit is in working condition.
Overall I would give this a 6-7 out of 10.
The Unit comes with a Heathkit Manual Copy.
PRICE........$50.00 USA + Shipping
