Just look around for the heftiest Germanium power transistors in the same
package that you can find. As I remember, they should be rated at more than
20 amps collector current and at least 40V Vceo. Almost anything that will
fit and will handle the voltage spikes and current will work. You *may* be
able to get by with 30 volts Vceo and 15 amps Ic; but get a few spares and
don't let the final runaway!
