Heathkit? to some, a way of life, a bygone era back in the golden age
of Ham radio, the smell of melted solder, one with the bags and bags
of parts, burning the midnight oil, for days and days,
checking and re-checking every line of the Assembly book, building the
boards looking forward to the part of the book that directed the
builder to install the boards into the empty chassis and so on and so
on, for years until Heathkit's father The Heath Company, divested
itself of the Amateur Radio Division......As Chuck Penson wrote:
" There is a phrase in the back of just about every assembly
manual Heath ever wrote. A phrase that has a very different
meaning now then it did back then. It read simply,'This
        completes the assembly'...."
The assemblies are, for the most part over, now there are those who
are trying to keep the old gear going ........What is Heathkit?
Everybody probably has a definition...but simply, a name of some
Ham Radio gear......
