1) You probably already did, but I'll ask anyway. Did you align it for all
bands, as instructed in the manual? You'd be surprised how many people assume
they can align only the bands that appear to have problems, and favor one end of
the band besides. Alot of the slug-tuned inductors are in series and the
alignment interacts. It MUST be done as instructed in the manual for proper
results.

2) Check the plate resistors for the carrier oscillator tube, and for that
matter, everything up to the PA stage for resistance. Some of those 1/2 W carbon
composition one sdrift upward in value. I'd look at the carrier oscillator and
mic amp plate resistors first. BTW, same problem happens with the 22k 1/2 W in
the audio output stage. Put in a 1 W and replace the 20 uF 350 V with a 22 uF if
that resistor was way off resistance.
