Hi Heath Fans,
I picked up a really pretty looking DX-40 at a garage sale once. First
thing I did was open it up to see how it was put together. It had been
assembled using "liquid solder". What liguid solder was, or i assume
anyway, was a heavy glue with either silver colering or maybe even metal
particals in it. Out of curiosity I fired it up and it worked just fine.
I took it all apart and turned it into a new kit. Well as close to a new
kit as I could get anyway. Put it all back together using real solder. I
still have that rig and when I am all done with my new shack I am going to
unpack it from storage and put it back on the air. Love that rig and feel
I built it.
