Hello Dave,
I think the worst part of the RX1 is its AVC circuitry... and apart from that
Im not sure I understand why this radio gets such abuse :-) .... it has
great dial linearity, mine drifts little, the filtering is very useful and I
enjoy
it a lot on CW "transceiving" with the Apache.
I agree about the article in ER... gutting the radio seems a little excessive.
I believe the same author did an article where he bores a hole in the
front panel of a pristine Chippewah in order to install a toggle switch,
in order to "improve" it... gad!!
