What vintage is the piece of equipment and its make/model number? It could very
well be some old RTL logic or DTL logic. Motorola made a lot of that stuff.
Probably pure unobtainium today, but I've seen stuff like that still sitting
around in obscure places.

I am trying to cross reference an Integrated circuit Heathkit part number
443-29. It is a buffer storage device in a 16 pin dip package. The part
description in the manual is C'Greek letter mu'L9959 where 'Greek letter
mu' is the same as the micro symbol.
The decade counter has a similar part number 443-28 described as a
C'Greek letter mu'L9958 decade counter.
The local electronics shop has a complete NTE line but cannot cross
reference Greek letters. We tried cross referencing on 9959, L9959,
C*L9959 and came up with nothing. They suspect this is an OEM part.
Is there any way to cross reference this part? Does anyone know of a
substitute?
