Heath Group:
I have an HW-17 2 metre "transceiver". Cosmetically a very nice item.
One scratch on the top half of the cabinet, all knobs original, no mods
that I can
see. Xtaled for the 145.xx freqs, does not have FM, or PS add-ons.
Original
mic and manual. Powered up and while she did not smoke, the bands were
void of AM signals, but I tuned up the end of the dial, with Function in
VFO pos.
(no there is no VFO with this radio), an a local FM station overloaded the
front
end. The signal was heard and while the fidelity was lacking, it did show
the
audio sections were working. Connected it to a dummy load and metre and
output in the 8 to 10 watt range, normal so says the book.
I have no Idea of it's worth, other than C. Penson says "very
Rare"....hmmmm
guess there are not too many around. Normally do not put things up for
"Offers",
but in this case I have no "base" for pricing, not even in my Price guide
with a
price....So, you of the Green Gear, who Collect such items, let the offers
begin.
I will pay shipping....assuming of course, there are any offers for this
fine specimen
of Heathkit engineering..hmmmmm ;o)))
