Heath IB101 counter? Wha?

I just got one of these today (sans manual) and although it light
up nicely (wow! Nixies!) I'm at a loss to know what all the BNC's on the
back are for (including the two that are jumpered together with
Coax).

Can anyone walk me through quickly , what all the interconnects on the back
do (as opposed to the front BNC which appears to be the counter
input). What does the Pot on the back do?

I know how to use a counter, if someone can get me started on these
unlabeled ports/pot.
