SA-2040 Tuning Tips?

George.. Well,, the manual has some ballpark inductor ranges where you
can start from.. and they are pretty close, but other than that you have
the correct idea.
The ideal would be to have one of the little MFJ swr indicators. Then you
can play with the tuner and find the lowest SWR without having to transmit.
Other than that, you tune for best signals, then start transmitting and find
the low SWR. For the inductor, try 126 for 75 phone or 27 for 20 meters.
Those numbers stick in my head as being the starting point.
