2036 vs. 2036A

That's true.  I bought the radio kit when it was first offered by Heath,
whenever that was.  I have one of the update kits that I never installed in my
2036 (not A).  I don't have the energy or the will to open the radio now and
try to make the mods.  The radio still works fine here, except for the limited
band coverage.  I use it as my primary APRS radio.

I wish it had had a mike plug rather than hardwiring the mike into the radio.
I had to install an outboard mic plug to use it for packet.  Otherwise, no
complaints, but who's listening now that Heath is no more.
