Hi,
Many thanks to all who responded concering my
little problem with the meter lamp. Could not find any
bad caps or grounds, but the addition of 2 caps (.03)
right at the meter from each leg to ground solved the
problem, used the existing term strip Robert. The SB-221
must have had them there originally Darwin. I still wonder
why the addition of the caps was necessary, but perhaps
some units are more prone to rf pickup here than others,
maybe lead dress etc.
BTW .. If any have been following my post concerning my
brush with HV, it was this rig that I had just finished that almost
got me. I fixed the lamp problem, installed the R&R designs
standby sw/rel output pot mod, put an SO239 input conn.on
in place of the phono conn.and has just put the cover on.
Its now in the case, working and looking good - better than my
hand.
