Ebay Furor - Watch out for the Sharks

I will offer my approach as an option for the gentle folk of this list. I
*always* make my best offer on something I desire but with a radically different
price. I state that my offer may very well be below what the piece is worth,
but that that is all I can afford to pay. If we can't meet on price, then
hopefully, someone else will offer an agreeable price. I frequently loose out
on stuff I would really like to have, but you never know when another will come
available when I have more money or a piece that is more suited to my budget.

As an anecdote, I looked for an HR-10B for about a year and was never able to
make a deal. Then within a week, I found one plus a DX-60B for an amount I
would have paid for the HR-10 alone and then a friend *gave* me another HR-10B!
Life is funny sometimes. I sold the best one and recovered my investment.

I guess my point is that it is not worth worrying about prices. All anyone can
ask is you do your best in an honest fashion. This is hopefully a hobby for us
and it isn't worth getting an ulcer. The above anecdote is not the only case of
patience paying off for me, so take heart!
