CONVERSION OF HG-10, DX-60B (ouch!)

Dave,
I would be the *last* guy to discourage experimentation
and extensive mods. However, I owned a DX-60 in my younger
dayz, and I performed so many mods on it ( 6 meters...
even attempted 2 meters) that I pretty well modded the sad
thing to death! Did I learn anything? Yes! But, it was a
pricey experiment and it sure got messy... very messy.
I'll not preach. But, I would find a real basket case
DX-60... a 2 on a 10 scale and try your proof of concept.
And, remember... you still have B+ inside the RF cage on
that 6146 plate... it's always a shocking experience
whilst working on a hybrid rig late at night ;)
What ever you decide -- GL and be careful,

Hi all,
Don't shoot me but I'd like to convert my HG-10 and DX-60B
to solid state
units. Anyone who has done so, please email me any
appropriate info. I
plan on leaving the 6146 in the DX-60. Several articles
in ARRL and other
books look promising but I am interested in your
experiences and hints/tricks.
Thanks
Dave
