I've had good luck making belts for the HW-101 and the like by using
industrial O-ring kits. The proper length of O-ring stock is cut
squarely and then adhesive applied. The two ends are pressed together
and allowed to dry.
I've made several belts in this manner over the last few years and none
have stretched or separated.
