HW-100 mod

I bought subject and found it to be highly modified. There are more hole
plugs than controls in the front and rear panels. Among these is an
INCREMENTAL TUNING control and switch on the front panel and a string of
2 watt resistors underneath.
It also has a large metal knob behind the TUNING knob.
Are these Heath supplied or approved mods? Or should I pull them out? Any
advice will be appreciated.
