HW-101 help

I have a new HW-101.  It was built but never used.
I have found two wiring errors and have started into the
Alignment procedures.

I find that on page 120,121
the instructions to adjust T201, T102, T103, I can adjust for maximum
volume or max S meter, but the adjustments are not in sync. I can get
maximum volume or max S meter.  Which one should I go for?  Do I have a
problem?

VFO Alignment is driving me nuts. I don't understand the instructions.

What is meant by "listening frequency" ?
Is there a method using a frequency counter?

Anyone have a modification list?
