WTB: SA-5010 Parts

Greenkeepers:

A member of our ARC, W8SH, here at Michigan State is
resurrecting an SA-5010 uMatic Keyer for the club. Its keypad is
disintegrating and it probably has other problems. Would like to
know if anyone has an SA-5010 for parts or advice on what to do
with the one we've got. (I know, MRJ has better keyers for cheap,
but it's a Heathkit.) Thanks and 73.

Thanks for the help.
My plan as of now is to check the rectifier, regulator, etc. Then if
those work fine, check the power connections on all of the IC's, check to
see if the MPU's clock is working.
After that i will take my logic analyzer and set it to trigger off the
interrupt pin off the PIA that is hooked to the keypad, (in case they keypad
is screwed up and the off button is hitting intermidently).
The keyer is a Heathkit uMatic Keyer Model SA-5010.
Dave, do you think you can post a message on the Heathkit mailing lists
asking for a keypad that is in good shape? Or maybe a broken SA-5010 with a
good keypad? Our keypad is peeling off the case, and it is falling apart
where the conductors for the buttons are located. I don't think it's long
for this world even if it is not the source of the problem.

Greg --

If you get stuck on that keyer, I'm on both of the Heathkit email
lists and I personally know some about that equipment. I'd be
happy to post to the lists with any questions you might need
answered. BTW, which model is it? An HD-1410, maybe?
