AFSK w/HW-100

OK...has anyone successfully put a HW-100 (or a close cousin) into
service using AFSK modulation, and if so, how...also if you've
managed to ruin perfectly good green-stuff in the process of trying,
I'd like to know what to avoid.  If this is a stupid idea altogether,
I'd like to know that as well.

The big drawback I see right off the bat is duty-cycle.  I have a
muffin fan available that sits nicely above the finals...don't know
if that would be enough or not...

I await the collective wisdom of the group...
