572B Tubes

Personally I have never heard of Taylor. The lower price suggests to me that
they may be marketing Chinese tubes, and I have heard they can be 1)
inconsistent and 2) may not be made for horizontal service. The filaments
and grid can sag and short to each other.

Svetlana is enjoying a good reputation for both RF and audio tubes. If you
do choose the Svetlanas, get the correct version...They have developed 572-B
variants with low mu for single-ended audio amplification. Some of these
will not tolerate the same plate voltages and will not have enough gain for
your intended use.

I think the rf application version has a mu of 160. Svetlana typically
labels their tubes something like 572-3, 572-10, 572-30, 572-160. Don't
quote me as stating that all 4 versions exist...I may be incorrect on the
full range or exact nomenclature. My point is that you sure don't want the
low mu tube.
