Another thought, with respect to the historical issue--these mods
show how the rigs were ACTUALLY USED...and how a tool was used is as
important of a historical issue as the tool itself.  If a given mod
shows up consistantly, it shows either a shortcoming in design and/or
a change in the way people operated.  In either case it is
interesting information.

On the other hand, I don't support "butchering" the equipment
either.  If you are going to do a mod, make it CLEAN.
