Load control thanks and need more info.

It may be all smoke and mirrors. Perhaps they meant 500W PEP. I have a
Swan 1200-X which uses 4 sweep tubes and get about 450 watts out on CW
down on 80 meters. On 10 it's about 350 watts. That kind of amp was
never meant for serious CW work. They do fine on SSB. On my "converted"
HM-102, I do read about 600 watts PEP on 75 meters. When I say
converted, I mean it has a peak reading circuit added which gives a
better indication of actual power out on SSB. The unconverted meter
movement just can't follow the power peaks on SSB to give a trueer
reading.
