"SB"-Series AM Filter...

What is the SB-301/300 IF frequency that makes it so difficult to
locate an AM filter ? Guess I just don't understand why anyone
would be forced to the trouble of converting down, selectively
AM filter, and then converting up, back to the original IF frequency.

By the way a cascaded half lattice filter using 4 crystals works
much better than a single half lattice filter (sharper skirts). They
all do require some "tuning" to optimize the poles and zeros as
I recall (last one I built was on an old Hallicrafters).
