GC 1 Trouble.

Am stuck with getting the BFO circuit to perk. It oscillates at  600 kc and nothing I can do will change it. It should be 455  kc--  A slight adjust on the slug will move it a bit higher. Have checked leads, connections, and parts.. no avail- The tone will not vary in pitch no matter what- tone is good audio quality but is sure stuck to 600 ..  The voltage variation  is about .3 with the control resistor. (maximum resistance)  Any  expertise volunteered will certainly be welcome.  Can't proceed  unless this blooming circuit behaves .
