Looking for an old Heathkit + questions....

Hi Gang!

As I get the Apache/Mohawk/Warrior closer to airtime, I have a couple of
questions.  I intend to use this station mostly on AM with some CW and SSB
with the SB-10.   I'm wondering what most of you do for T/R switching.  I
have a real nice Johnson tube type T/R switch that I can use for the
antenna switching portion.  What is the common way or best way (if they are
different) to handle the T/R switching of these older rigs and what is the
best way to handle the muting of the Mohawk if using the Johnson T/R
switch?
Also, what mic do you recommend for use with the Apache?  I have an Astatic
D-104, Astatic T-3, and a Turner 22X.  Should any processing be used?  All
comments are welcome and encouraged!



I would really like to find a VX-1 if there is one out there.  If you want
to let one go please let me know!
