Thanks to all who replied with all the fantastic information re my
serial number question.

To make a long story short the middle digit in the 5 digit code on the
blue/silver tag is the year that it was packaged... the other 2 digits
is apparently the manuals edition printed in backwards. As one person
quoted..."there were approx 4000 HW-8's made"

There you go... Ya learn something new everyday.

Im always interested in any info or stories involving Heath QRP rigs...
