Thanks to all who replied on the methods of removing the
tight slug.
Bob opined that it was split, not really tight...
He was right,,,split in half I guess and the pressure to turn it expands
it more..
Steve offered a lengthy plan to repair, basically chip away at the slug
carefully and once out, clean the form and re-insert new slug..
I removed the xformer for the rig, quite easy actually, so it's on the
bench...next operation is to remove the slug..or try..
And I have an offer for a new (used) 52-79 can...so I'm in business
