Heath HK-21 - a success story

My TNC finally gave up several weeks ago. I checked out all connectors
and reset the software, to no avail. I wasn't about to probe around in
in something that small.
Yesterday I priced a new TNC. That was enough motivation to give it one more try. I opened it up and with a magnifying glass starting looking
at and/or wiggling anything that looked suspecious. I found a bad
solder connection between a tab and one of the circut boards. (Does this sound familiar?) With a magnifying glass in one hand and an iron in the
somewhat shakey other I managed to tack them back together. It is now working like a champ.
I guess I could make a comment about dropping back to the basics, but I
won't. You have probably all been there.
