Keith -

The D-104 / UG-8 contacts will handle your "real" switching needs with no
problem.

By the way, in keeping with the "spirit" of the reflector, sticking your
fingers in a light socket may also result in injury or death.... duh.....

Keith -

The specification sheet I have for the UG-8 stand has no specifications for
the switch contacts. They are fairly small, but look like they might
survive. They are approximately the same size as the moveable contacts on
a 2 A relay I have.
I can't think of any contemporary rig that would have had that kind of PTT
voltage AND current.

Guess you could try it! :-) They are fairly easy to get to if they need to
be pried apart and re-filed...
