I Am 67 years old and I still work (sometimes) and have had some
experience repairing VTVM's. Look for a wiring error or a heater-cathode
short in the 12AU7 putting AC into the circuit. By all means, try new
tubes.
You should be able to get the pots from an electronics store or any of
the mail order companies i.e. Newark, Tech-America, Surplus sales of
Nebraska, MCM, Mouser, etc. Get linear taper pots not audio taper.
If you have the schematic and want to send them both to me I will repair
it for you for expenses only.
