Greenies,
I have an interesting problem here, perhaps someone can lead me to what they
think might be wrong.
I have an HW101, HS 1661 speaker and the HP23a power supply.
With everything turned off. If you place your ear next to the speaker you
can hear a very low hum. If I unplug the speaker from the HW101 the hum goes
away, BUT. If I touch any part of the metal chassis or any other piece of
station equipment with the center pin of the rca jack, the hum is very
audible.
When I turn the 101 on. I get a very audible hum for less than 1 second.
then drops to the very very low level. so low in fact you would not notice
it if you didn't have your ear next to the speaker.
I turn the radio off, I unplugged the power cable from the 101 to the Power
Supply, and unplugged the power suply from the wall. and guess what? The
low hum is still there!
any ideas?
Sean
