ER: Yes a spring, and it is a "C" cell

ER: The DC probe has a 1 megohm resistor in series at the end of the
probe. The AC / OHMS probe is straight through. Or a single probe with a
1 megohm resistor and a switch to short it out for AC / OHMS.
