heath temp sensors

Hi everyone,

in allot of Heath's weather series kits, i.e. id-1290,id-1390 etc, they used
temperature sensors that consisted of 2 diodes in series in a sealed metal
can, but nothing I can find has ever said what type of diodes. I would like
to build a one of these sensors to replace a bad one, but rather than try a
bunch of different type of diodes to try and find the same characteristics
does anyone know what diodes Heath used in those cans?
