The little solid state code osc from Heath (which I just built from a kit I
just found) has a feature which extends key circuit to sep. line/plug to key
transmitter while generating a tone. Old Handbooks have circuits which can be
keyed in a like manner, or which can be triggered by RF pickup/diode/dc amp
to activate a switching xstr in place of a key to do similar thing.  That is
best way to monitor your keying.
