Removing labels from Plastic Paneled Heaths??

While we're all talking about label-removing...

What about removing the residue of price stickers from the front panels of
very late series Heaths, such as the HO-5404 Station Monitor? This series
has those plastic front panels and I can't really tell whether the plastic
itself was painted or the panel color is embedded in the plastic or is
painted on the rear. Being a plastic panel, the paint (if that's what it
is) was undoubtedly of a different formulation from that used on metal
panels. I've already damaged the panel slightly while trying to scrape the
sticker off with my finger nail; my nail left slight impressions in the
plastic! The sticker was, fortunately, placed where there is NO lettering,
right above the ATTENUATOR control and to the left of the function
pushbuttons.
