Thank you to all those that have sent me suggestions
concerning slipping slugs in the cardboard sleeves that make
up the vfo coil and doubler coils. Wow the vfo coil sure is
touchy! The suggestions I got were.. kinking the
sleeve..using rubber bands on the outside, a cut rubber band
on the inside, very fine string, waxed string, and waxed
dental floss, and last but not least the method that was
also suggested was wax paper. The wax paper worked great. I
still have a little tuning to do, but the rig does run.
I get 1.5 watts on 40 and 1 watt out on 20 and 15. I
believe the manual states I am supposed to get out 2 watts,
so the work continues. Much thanks to those that have
helped. Greg.
