Speaking of HW-8...

In my HW-8...
When peaking the receiver preselector on fifteen meters, the noise floor
seems to rise in greater proportion relative to real received signals. That
is, the increased noise seems to sort of mask the signals. Is this thing
improperly aligned or might this be the nature of the beast ?
