Calibration dial SB-401

Hi guys and gals.  Just picked up a nice SB401 but have a problem.  The
main tuning dial drive nut came loose and wasn't working.  I fixed that
and the dial turns smoothly now.  Problem:  How to engage small
calibration dial wheel.  It seems to barely engage the plastic rim and
comes loose.  The little wheel is not damaged and  fits tight enough when
not installed in panel.  This is undoubtedly a common problem. I do not
have the construction manual.  Any suggestions?  Thanks for the space.
