Hi Heath gang!

Yesterday, after some time spent with other non-radio related activities, I
could return to work on the HW-101. I just needed to make an adaptor
consisting in a 2 pin michophone jack (the only one I had!) at one side and
an female stereo jack at the other side (I use to make these jacks with all
my gear so I can use any transmitter or transceiver with any microphone, as
all of them are wired with male stereo jacks; very useful for Collins
plugs, for example). Then I powered the unit, waited two minutes and
checked the bias current in TUNE position. Right on the triangle mark!.
Following the book procedure, I got about 90W at 15 meters on the dummy
load (read by a Bird 43). Nice enough!. So I switched to the beam antenna
(Cushcraft A3) and looked for signals in the band... Ukrania was 9+10 and I
called him...... 5/9 report!!!. Hooray!!!!

Now I need to perform a carefully alignment but, by now, all is working
flawlesly. Another HW-101 back to life :-) !!!

Best regards from a happy camper.

JOSE
