Bidding

Fellow List members:

I'm sorry if my bidding method of disposing of Gene's equipment has made
some list members unhappy. It seemed to me to be the only fair way of
giving everyone who would be genuinely interested a chance at what was
available. Considering that all of this equipment came from a retired
Director of Engineering for Heath, it has special significance, at least
to me. And bidding also allowed the family to be relatively certain
that only individuals really interested in the equipment, and
understanding its origin, would be getting it. It also gave them the
best value for each unit.

Had I owned a crystal ball to set prices, I would have. Since I don't,
and since this list seems to have the REAL Heathkit supporters, I chose
to give it first crack. My thanks to all who have participated.
