HW-101 Elmer needed

I am attempting to
bring up a HW-101 that was built but never operated.

To date I have
completed the initial check out and the Receiver Alignment.

I have stopped
here.

The Receiver appears
to work well but...

"Proper receiver
operation will be indicated by minimum calibrator signals of S9 +20 dB
at
3700

and decreasing to S3
at 29.2"

I can only get S5 at
3700 and S3 at 29.2

The resistance
values at V17 look correct per the chart on figure 1-22.

The voltage values
on figure 1-21 look OK around V17 except that the 70v mark reads
77.

I tried to set the
crystal calibrator to 100K but the meter I have causes a change in the
tone I
hear in the speaker.

And from a previous
thread here, I can only get down to 101,200 Hz.

Anyone have a junker
with a good 100K crystal?

I checked the output
on the C218 side of CR201 I see about 10V PP, but not much on the other
side of
CR201.

It look like the
front end pulls this signal down when loaded.

I also tried to set
the frequency using the procedure on page  124 using a TenTec set at 10
Meg.

I can only get it
down to a 200 Hz tone, and when I do the oscillator will not restart
after I
switch to VOX.

Am I looking in the
right place?
