Drake vs. Heathkit

Hello Green Guys (and Gals?)

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for you views and thoughts regarding the Drake
2NT/2C twins. Needless to say, each has their own opinion...

What I found interesting is that many of you have a deep emotional
attachment which is perfectly understandable. I, for one, have a deep
attachment to the Henry Radio Tempo One which was my Novice rig back in
the early 1970's (I'm not very old...) The Tempo One could not hold a
candle to the Collins KWM2, SB-102, and perhaps many other radios but it
sure was a good, old friend to me.

There is something to be said about older radio equipment. Since the
laws of physics, electromagnetic radiation, have not changed in the last
several zillion years or so (give or take a few billion), an old radio
can still bring plenty of enjoyment. Perhaps even more as the older,
less capable radio might bring more of a challange to the keen operator
and as such increase the thrill and enjoyment.

Anyway, THANKS again for your views and very best regards to you all,

George
