I'm at work and the books are at home, so I'll ask here.
Does anyone know if the HW-101 can be setup with a monitor scope?
You need to look at the schematic of the
HW-101 to see if there is a monitor output. This will be an output that
has
a capacitor divider so you can adjust the rf output for the normal
power
level you run, and will give the size of the trapezoidal pattern you
want to
see. If you don't have such an output, you can make one. You tap off a
sample of your rf output. Use a 20-150 micro-micro fd cap in series
with a
1mh choke coil, the coil going to ground. Tap the monitor signal at the
junction of the coil and capacitor and send this signal to the scope.
Adjust the capacitor for the signal level desired at the monitor scope.
