HW-8

Hi there:

My name's James and my call is KI7EL.

I own a HW-8 that my Field Day group and I want to
take with us this
year.  We plan to try to operate it using a solar
panel.

Last night a friend of mine and I hooked the HW-8
up to test it.  During the
transmit test the radio quit functioning
properly.  We now have no tone, and
the external power meter we're using shows no
output power at all.  Also I
get kind of a strange buzz in the headphones
during transmit.

I'm currently searching the Internet looking for
anyone who knows what
the problem might be or who might know where I can
get a service manual
for the radio.  The radio was given to me seven
years ago and I have no
documentation for it.
