Carbon resistors characteristics.

Me too.  I once found a piece of gear that had been stored away in an
unheated shed for 20 years only to find all the resistors way out of
tolerance.  So I replaced them all.  Few weeks later I just happened to
check some of the resistors that I had removed from the unit. They were
still laying on my bench where I had flipped them instead of into the
garbage.  Much to my suprrise, they were all within spec again.  Heck, if I
just had let the old radio set a few days in a heated room at a typical
humidity, I probably could have saved myself all the work and trouble.
