I did not intend to start a thread about shipping damage by anybody but for
the record this one is clearly UPS all the way. Having worked at a telecom
equipment manufacturing company for many years I have learned all about UPS
and their rules. This unit was very well packed and had to have been
dropped of the back of the truck and rolled around for good measure. The
box was destroyed and the gear inside was wrapped again and again with
heavy bubble wrap. Then it had caps made for the ends of the cabinet and
finally was put in a box that was heavy and snug fitting. The unit would
have easily survived the UPS drop test. I too have recieved many "miracle"
shipments of items with only newspaper around them but not the case here.

I really meant to seek parts to restore this item since it was a very nice
unit before shipment and I hate to part it out. I did not wish to state
the woes of shipping. UPS by and large does a good job but because they
are human, they do let a few get off the truck now and then. I just wish
it was then and not now. I was hoping at least one resonse would be from
someone who had a parts unit.
