Siilver tarnish conductivity

Tarnish on silver is only significantly conductive at very high (I just mean
'real' high, not literally VHF) frequencies. It's absolutely not a problem
at frequencies at which waveguides are used.

I agree with the  advice not to mess with the contacts anyway, however.
You'll never be able to get inside the stationary contacts. I would inspect
them carefully however, to be sure none are damaged/vaporized/missing.
