SB-101 problems

Fellow Keepers of Heathkits,
An restoring an SB-101. Cosmetics are back to a 9.9 with front panel
by Lynn, another set of knobs, repainted case (to original) and lots of
cleaning. Working through the electronic problems now.
Problem...S meter can be zeroed after warm-up and will indicate signals.
After warm-up, receiver starts to die and meter goes to peg and can't be
reset. Recall a thread here a while back of the same problem but can't
recall the fix. Hate to start replacing high value resistors. Seems it
was a diode. Can anyone remember? Many TX's.
