I have used a D-104 with my HW-101 for 23 years and  it still get excellent
reports.  The HW-101 and SB-100 series are designed for a high impedance
mic.  The D-104 meets this criteria and has excellent audio.  I have tried
several other crystal mics and swapped them out during a QSO, and the D-104
always gets the best reports.

Also if you are using a HW-101 or SB-100 series rig, change out the 6EA8 for
a 6CQ8 at V1 (the first stage of audio), it solves the problem of spur
oscillations and the lack of drive on the audio.
