Yes, the SB-401 will operate with the SB-300.  I have an SB-401 and the
manual covers this operation on page 109.  Tune L20 in the SB-300 for
maximum signal at the Receiver BFO output (approx 2.5 volts).  Use 2 ft
cables of RG-62/U for the BFO, LMO and Het Osc cables.  Other cables can be
RG-58/U.
